Leonard Lee Woodrum, 83, of Las Vegas died Friday in a local hospital. He was born Oct. 2, 1916, in West Virginia. A resident for 53 years, he was a PBX repairman for Central Telephone Co. for more than 40 years, an Army veteran, a member of the Eagles and the National Brotherhood of Electrical Workers.

He is survived by two sons, Rodny Lee Woodrum and Steven Wayne Woodrum; three daughters, Mignon Frostick, Sarita Rae Woodrum and Cindy Woodrum; one brother, Ralph Woodrum; one sister, Irene McBride; and one grandchild, Joshua Woodrum.

Graveside services will be noon Thursday in Southern Nevada Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Boulder City. Desert Memorial Cremation and Burial Society, 1111 Las Vegas Blvd. North, is handling arrangements.

She was a retired restaurant manager from Wright-Patterson Air Force Base and a member of Madison Church of Christ.

Surviving: brother, Lawrence Greene of Orangeburg, S.C.; sisters, Nannie Brown and Bertha Canterbury, both of Madison; several nieces and nephews.

Service will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Handley Funeral Home, Danville, with Evangelist Truman J. Cobb officiating. Burial will be 1 p.m. Monday in Valley View Memorial Gardens, Dayton, Ohio. Friends may call two hours prior to service at the funeral home.

Opie Harold Miller, 83, of Madison passed away Aug. 29, 2007, in Boone Memorial Hospital, Madison.

Born on Jan. 29, 1924, he was one of six children born to Allen Fillmore and Clara Halstead Miller of Foster.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Hager Miller; two brothers, Carlos and Fred Miller; and two sisters, Oma White and Olive Gibson.

He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend and is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Brenda and Ronald Bryson of Midlothian, Va.; one grandson, Justin Bryson, also of Midlothian; one sister, Patsy Price of Mulberry, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews.

He and his wife, Helen, married and settled in Madison where Opie went to work at Riverside Motor Company. His career spanned nearly 40 years of not only selling automobiles, but also making many long-lasting friendships. He was a proud member of Daniel Boone VFW Post 5578, Madison, was an Army veteran of World War II, serving in the 82nd Airborne, was a member of O'Dell Masonic Lodge 115 and Riverside Golf Club and attended the Church of Christ in Danville.

Funeral service will be 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville. Burial will follow in Memory Gardens, Madison, with Masonic graveside rites.

Friends may call one hour prior to service at the funeral home.

James Franklin Price, 66, of 1438 Dixie St., died Monday at home.

He was a native of Madison and was a retired section foreman for C&O Railway with 48 years service.

Surviving: Wife, Myrtle Sanders Price; sons, Shelby of Chicago, Ill., Gary of Madison; daughters, Mrs. Louise Potter of Sissonville, Mrs. Evelyn Dotson of Madison; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Isiah Price of Madison; brothers, Gene, Arnold, Delano, Bill, Albert, Berton, Troy, Denver and Otis; sisters, Mrs. Ona Kuhn and Mrs. Glenna Holstein of Madison.

Service will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. in J. E. Johnson Funeral Home, Kanawha City, the Rev. Vernon Mullins officiating. Burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery.

Nancy Faye Stone, 98, of Uneeda, went home to be with the Lord on November 8, 2010, after sudden kidney failure at the Boone County Nursing Home in Danville.

She was a member of the Uneeda Church of Christ.

Faye was the first daughter of the late Elijah and Alice Stone. In addition to her parents, Faye was preceded in death by her two brothers, James Stone and Virgil Stone (Gay); three sisters, Verlie Stone, Fannie Holstein (Kelly), and Goldie Price (Freddie); one niece, Mary Ella Stone; and one nephew, Roger Lee Stone.

In her early years of employment as a live-in housekeeper/childcare, Faye gave her heart and love to each of the children. Following many years of faithful custodial service for a local church, Faye retired to spend time with her sisters. She enjoyed quilting, laughter, her garden, and cooking for all her friends, neighbors, and family.

The Stone sisters, Fannie, Faye, and Verlie cherished the many visits they had over the years from all of their nieces and nephews, who seemed just like their children.

A special thank you to the employees at the Boone County Nursing Home for your personal touch and the exceptional care you gave her over the years. A special blessing to those who made her smile by sending her a card, a gift, or giving her your time with a visit.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 10, at Handley Funeral Home, Danville with Roger Dingess officiating. Burial will follow in Gomez Cemetery at Uneeda.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Verlie Ellen Stone.

Verlie Stone, 79, of Uneeda, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 29, 2006.

She was born on Oct. 10, the fourth daughter of the Elijah and Alice Stone. She was a 1948 graduate of Van High School. Her first job was at Cohen Drug in Madison, retiring from Hecks/L. A. Joe's in Danville. She was a member of the Uneeda Church of Christ.

In addition to her parents, Verlie was preceded in death by her two brothers, James and Virgil, both of Uneeda; her sister, Goldie Price; her brother-in-law, Freddie Price of Uneeda and Ohio; brother-in-law, Kelly Holstein of Uneeda; and a niece, Mary Ella of Uneeda.

Survivors include her two sisters, Nancy Faye Stone of Uneeda and Fannie Helen Holstein of Uneeda; two sisters-in-law, Edna Stone of Uneeda and Gay Stone of Uneeda; six nephews; and three nieces. Verlie always showed a whole-hearted love for each of her nephews and nieces.

A special thank you to the home caregivers, the staff at Madison Medical Group, Dignity with Hospice, and all of her friends that called, sent card, or visited.

Visitation for family and friends will be one hour prior to the service at Stevens Funeral Home, Madison. The service will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, with Evangelist Roger Dingess officiating. The burial will follow at the Gomez Cemetery, Uneeda.
