Mary Melissa Hurt, 55, Geneva, died at 7:26 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, 2006, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

A loving wife and mother and a great friend, she was a strong advocate for those with disabilities and always looked out for the weak, the old, the frail, the defenseless.   She was former director of Special Olympics of Henderson County for five years and a former board member of the Autism Society of Western Kentucky.   She and her husband founded the By Faith General Baptist Church in Corydon.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Sr. and Mary Ann Newton; and a sister, Sandy Young.

Survivors include her husband of 18 years, the Rev. J. Keith Hurt; a son, Joshua K. Hurt of Corydon; a custodial child, Zachary J. Pierce of Corydon; a brother, Charles Newton Jr. and his wife, Ann, of Memphis, Tenn.; nieces and nephews.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Tapp Funeral Home.   The Rev. John Smith will officiate.   Burial will be in Fairmont Cemetery.

Friends may call after 10 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the By Faith General Baptist Church, 1990 Wilson Station Road, Corydon, KY 42406.

JACKSON, Mo. -- Kenneth Edwin Galloway, 54, of Jackson died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2002, at his home.

He was born Jan. 20, 1948, at Bardwell, Ky., son of James Cleveland and Claudia Hicks Galloway.   He and Patricia Kidd were married Oct. 8, 1982, in Cape Girardeau.

Galloway was the owner and operator of Audio/Video Contractor in Jackson and the owner of XTEC of Jackson since 1998.   He was a graduate of Murray State University with a B.A. in psychology.   He was a member of South Side Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau and the National Systems Contractors Association.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Kyle Galloway of Essex, Mo., and Kevin Tankersley of St. Charles, Mo.; a daughter, Crystal Tankersley of Jackson; a brother, James Hicks Galloway of Wentzville, Mo.; two sisters, Jonetta Wiechec of Bardwell, Ky., and Brenda Sutton of Atlanta, Ga.; and three grandchildren.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Chapel.

Funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Lee Roy Quinn officiating.   Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
