Clarence J. Clayton, 68, 1114 N. Lee, died Thursday at the Mangum Nursing Home.

Services have been set for 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the First United Methodist church officiated by the Rev. Clayton Johnson.   Burial will be at Restlawn cemetery, under the direction of Tims funeral Home.

He was born March 7, 1904 in Collins county, Tex., and had lived in Jackson County since 1923.   He married the former Zelma Brisbin, June 3, 1925, and was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Elks, Masons, Odd Fellows.   He was the former operator of Clyde’s Drive Inn.

Survivors include his wife of the the home; two daughters, Mrs. A.J. (Deborah) Chisholm, Seneca, S.C. and Mrs. J.V. (Joyce) Ashbury, Bakersfield, Calif., six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren, a sister, Mrs. A.A. Timmons, Van Alstyne, Tex, two brothers, Vance, Grapevine, Tex and J.F. Wesloco, Tex.

Mrs. Clarence (Zelma V.) Clayton, 76, formerly of Altus, died Friday at Spartanburg, SC.

Services will be at the Tims Chapel of Memories at 2 p.m., Monday.   Burial will be at Restlawn Cemetery under the direction of Tims Funeral Home.

Mrs. Clayton was born March 2, 1909 at Olustee to Henry and Mittie Brisbin.   She owned and operated the Broadway Drive Inn with her husband Clarence Clayton.   She was a member of the First United Methodist Church.   Her husband, parents and a sister Velma Churchwell, died before her.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Deborah C. Chisholm, Spartanburg, and Mrs. Joyce C. Asbury, Bakersfield, Calif.; a sister Bernice Willis, Altus; two brothers, Marvin Brisbin, El Paso, Texas and Leo Brisbin, Kermit, Texas; six grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Robert Fay Smith, December 22, 1909 - April 24, 2005

Mr. Robert Fay Smith, age 95, of Celina, Texas passed away April 24, 2005 at Wilson N. Jones Hospital in Sherman, Texas.   Mr. Smith was born December 22, 1909 in Collin County near McKinney, Texas to George Harper Smith Sr. and Birta Mae (Hays) Smith.   He moved with his family to Celina when he was a young child.   He attended school at the Corinth School, Cottage Hill School and Celina High School.   Mr. Smith married Emma Ruth Webster January 4, 1932 in Clovis, New Mexico.   They were married for 65 years.   He attended the Cottage Hill Methodist Church.   He was a farmer all his life and retired from farming when he was 88 years old.   Mr. Smith is survived by one daughter Shirley and husband Elton Clark of Sherman; son William Smith of Celina; brother, Roy Smith and sister, Dovie Shaw of Celina; grandchildren, Elna and David Singleton of Mesquite, TX, Maurie and Jeff Knuppel of Roanoke, VA., Darin Smith of Allen, TX; Christy and Bryan Harris of Friona, TX and Jeremy Smith of Clovis, New Mexico; great grandchildren.   Emily and Laci Singleton of Mesquite, TX, Lauren and Matthew Knuppel of Roanoke, VA., Taylor Smith of Allen, TX, and Cheyenne and Skyler Harris of Friona, TX; also many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.   Pallbearers will be Gailon Chaffin, Jerry Spence, John Tucker, John Shaw, Clifford Baxter, Bill Blackburn and Charlie Chaffin, Jr.   Honorary pallbearers will be Clarence Webster, Ray Webster, Mark Smith, Ray Shinpaugh, and William Tolleson.   Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 am Wednesday, April 27, 2005 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Celina with reverend Mike Varrassi officiating.   Interment will follow at Cottage Hill Cemetery in Celina.   Visitation will be from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Chapel in Celina.   Memorials may be made to: Celina Area Heritage Museum- attn: Cindy Scott P. This is so sad.   Louise had been married to Harry Daegele for less than 2 years when she died.   She died 7 days after giving birth by Caeserean section to their only child, Wayne Marks Daegele.   The physician’s handwriting on the death certificate is extremely hard to read.   It says "generalized contracted pelvis", mentions the C-section & other information that is unreadable.   Apparently Louise did not have much if any contact with her father, Zeno Marks, because her husband did not know his first name for the death certificate.   Also, when Louise’s mother died in 1972, the obituary mentioned Maud’s second husband & children, as well as Louise & Arnold, but did not mention that she had been married to Zeno.   Maud’s brother Howard had been married to Marnie Marks & his obituary did not mention that first marriage for him either.

MRS HARRY DAEGELE

Dialtha Louise Daegele, nee Marks, of Kirkwood, Mo., eldest daughter of Mrs. Maude Crowder of Farmington, Mo., was born in Web City, Mo. on February 16, 1913, and passed away at the Parklane Memorial Hospital in St. Louis on Sept. 29, 1928, at the age of 25 years, 7 months and 13 days.   She was united in marriage on Oct 2, 1936, to Daegele, of Kirkwood.   To this union one son, Wayne Marks, 7 days of age was born, who with the husband survives.   Besides the heartbroken husband and mother she leaves on brother, Arnold Marks O Leadville, Colo, a half-sister, Malva Arline Crowder, at home, on half-brother, Winfred Crowder, of Jefferson Barracks;   three step-sisters, Freda (Mrs. Carl) Davis, of Rivermines; Ruth (Mrs. Everett) Rion, of Maplewood;   Miss Mildred Crowder of Chicago, and two step-brothers, Robert Crowder, of St Louis, and Clifford Crowder, of Montana.

There are many other relatives and friends who are deeply grieved at her untimely going.

Louise gave her heart to the Lord when seven years of age and united with the Murphy-Long Memorial Methodist Church, South Farmington, where she retained her membership until going.

Services were held at the Murphy-Long Memorial Church at 2:30 P.M. Sunday October 2d, with her pastor, Rev. H. A. Gibbs Officiating.   Interment was in Parkview Cemetery.
