JAMES H. ASHCRAFT PASSES AWAY

Death at An Old Resident of Columbus Occurred April 10.

James H. Ashcraft, an old and highly respected citizen, passed away at his home in Columbus April 10.  He was born in Kentucky, Feb. 9, 1828.  He was united in marriage to Nancy A Smith, April 7, 1852, and to them were born eight children, four having preceded him in death.  Those surviving are:  Mrs. Arminda Jeffrey, of Quincy; Mrs. Mary Wheeler, of Coatsburg; Mrs. Sarah Henning, of Big Neck, and Samuel Ashcraft residing at home.

The funeral was held at the residence by Rev. J. T. Parrick.

Mr. Ashcraft was a quiet and peaceful citizen.  He had been in failing health for some time.

The aged widow has the sympathy of a host of friends who will speak words of comfort to her and children, who will lovingly care for her.
