Passenger Lists - Henry and Sheridan
USA PORT ARRIVALS: HENRY/SHERIDAN/MURTAGH FAMILIES
Part 1 - Port of Boston Arrivals
The following table shows the port arrivals for family members of the Thomas Henry and Rosanna Sheridan and their siblings. The port of departure was Queenstown Ireland which was first referred to as Cove ("The Cove of Cork") in 1750 and renamed Queenstown in 1849 to commemorate a visit by Queen Victoria and so remained until the name Cobh (closer to the Irish spelling) was restored in 1922 with the foundation of the Irish Free State. From 1848 - 1950 over 6 million adults and children emigrated from Ireland - over 2.5 million departed from Cobh, making it the single most important port of emigration.

Part 2 - Michael Henry arrivals in New York
Michael Henry was the youngest of children Patrick Henry and Catherine Murtagh. From a Maureen Callahan email dated 4/25/2006 “My mom was Helen Henry McEvoy daughter of Mike Henry (1901- 1954) the youngest of the Henrys. He came over in 1922-23. You can see him coming in and out of New York on a ship he was a radio operator on.” The following shows some of the Ellis Island records of Michael Henry “coming in and out of New York.”
